Two tiny separated slaps of jungle along the northern coast of Borneo are all what’s left from the once mighty Sultanate of Brunei, though the sultan – who’s ancestors once ruled all off Borneo – is still one of the richest persons in the world, due to the enormous oil reserves found in its coastal waters. Apart from the magnificent Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan and the adjacent Kampong Air, the largest stilt-village on earth, there is not much to see. |
